Looks like your gonna win the rebuild race then, charlies is still in 100's of bits, mine has no wheels or engine top end as its still at the engine machine shop, and still looking desperately for a "c" model fuel tank :-(

That's no good! No hurry though, I think I just have a lot of spare time, since I'm a full time student and only working part time, I get about 3 solid days I can work on the bike, and living at home means not too many commitments! Are the C model and A model tanks different by much?
on another note
So I think I'm addicted.. it's 2 am and I can't sleep, I'd rather work on the bike, and I have to wake up at 5:30 for work. Oh jeez, well, the good news is:
-rectifier on - tank bracket on - triple clamps done (may need tightening...) - ignition done -swingarm assembly done -painted lowering links and suspension bracket -will mount rear shock before i go to work today - chain on -tyres mounted - 8/10 bearings in (will hammer in the lowering link bearings before I go to work) - wheels almost ready to go, everything except discs/sprocket on them done (bearing assemblies, spacers etc)
I've gotten through the work it took me about 6 hours to do last time in about 3 hours and a bit. I'm stoked! I'll have a rolling chassis sometime next week!

that's our compliance plate, it's just a record that this bike was legally imported and complies with Australian Design Rules, thus making the bike eligible for registration in New South Wales. Complicated as, and I had to make sure it wasn't coated as that would get rid of the 25 or so tiny numbers/letters on there to identify it!

Hi dude, What have you painted it with? is that heat-resistant paint? did you primer it first? Give us a bit more in-depth detail mate as it does look good but I'd really hate it to flake at some stage down the road!!! That said, keep it up mate, it is starting to look a nice "black and gold"!!! Cheers buddy!

I painted it with VHT Flameproof satin black, I can paint it without a primer as long as everything is clean underneath, but it needs to cure, for curing I need to run the engine for about an hour... Making me want to do it soon! I'll update the first post in the budget, so you can see what I;ve bought.

Here's another update guys. Would you like to see any how to's? I'm going to start with the wiring loom and engine tomorrow so I can do something, everything so far has been completely straight forward... Today I spent most of the day on little things, getting everything ready to mount the engine in tomorrow, and managed to set the rear axle right, and have mounted the front axle, however, I don't have a 17mm allen socket! Getting one tomorrow morning!
