The oil leak you have from the top of the stator cover, is this where the bolt for the water pipes have a joining metal t piece as well?
As for the vid where you have the bike fired up, Dont run the bike without the cooling system attached and full of coolant, that will be the quickest way of popping the head gasket and warping the cylinder head, and will result in a very expensive rebuild.
Finally, hope you used a plastic etcher/primer on the hugger before you sprayed it, or the paint will just flake off in next to no time as it absorbs alot of vibration.
Keep us updated with your progress....

Yeah it is Andi, have you had this problem before? I wasn't running the bike for long periods of time, I let it warm up a little, enough to safely rev but I didn't let it heat up enough to need the radiator, but yeah, I haven't run it for long periods of time since. Will be getting all that together very soon. A new update! I've been really busy with uni lately and the bike has gone on the back bench for the last 2 weeks, but I've been doing my scouting for parts, and have got some from someone in Queensland. I got a whole rear subframe to play with and modify to fit some other fairing sets to, and I got a stock exhaust that has been drilled out, I'm getting this one cut in half, (would do it myself but it's welded and I can't weld myself so I can't get it back on). Finally got that battery bracket! Can finish putting the rest of the bike together now. I haven't had a chance to attend to the leaks, so I went out and tried to start the bike today, ran perfectly well, however, it's pissing out oil from the rocker cover. nuts. Really need to realign the gasket around the spark plugs. Here's some photo's of the leak. AHHHHH when I saw this: I'm gonna need new leads.... new zorst

Be very careful with the Ht caps if your replacing the leads, as they are not available anymore.
The leak from the rocker cover looks to me like the rubber gaskets between the cam housing and rocker cover, are they old worn ones, or did you replace them?

sorry what? Ht caps?
Yeah I think that's what it is, I didn't replace them, they were absolutely fine when I pulled off the cover to clean it out, I think what's happened is that it's misaligned, and she's spitting out oil like it's water, good news is, oil pumps are working ;D

You said you wanted to replace the leads, probably a wise move if they are the originals, as they are probably hard now, with the insulation cracking in places. The reason i gave the warning the warning about the HT capss is they are fragile now with age and tend to break at the top inch where it narrows before tapering out again.
The part number for the rubber gaskets between the cam housing and rocker cover is 11009-1843

Hmm yeah Andi, they're hard as but no cracks, what I'm worried about is that it doesn't sit flush on the plugs, and can just be pulled up a little and the leads come right out, there's no *pop* or anything... I'm going to pull off the rocker cover tonight, and have a look at why there's a leak, Thanks for the part number!!!!

06/10/11 I know it's been ages since I've looked at this and worked on my bike, it's taken a back seat at the moment as I ended up in the business end of my uni semester, though, here's a pic of it sitting in the workshop as it is now, almost complete.... [/quote] turns out the clamps were slightly out, replacing them, nothing else is damaged, frame is straight and forks are straight, also found both discs warped, replacing them as well, the wheel is also slightly bent, but nothing balancing can't fix. the clamps are the weak point on this bike for the front end, the forks are much stronger then the clamps it looks like 27/10/11 well the clamps have been replaced, just waiting on front rotors, I have been a bit cheeky, had some money saved and splurged on this: shouldn't have, but I have now learned how to do wheelies... and I'm trying to sell it to see if I can get the zxr out of the workshop quicker, but if not, the zxr will just have to stay put.. hmm... I do want to keep it though, but let's see how many visitors I get. 08/11/11 sold the madass about 3 days ago, today I went and put a deposit down for finishing my bike, new tyres going on, metzeler race tec 2 on the front, and still undecided about the back as it's an 18", and I want the best tyres I can buy for the first changeover as I'm going to do a few track days on it. Bike should be in my hands next week albiet with triple clamps and rotor carriers unpainted, everything else done, just need lights and indicators on for rego. almost there, just need fork seals done before it gets put back together by next week, after going to superbikes on sunday, I have a fire in my belly that just cannot be put out by looking at bikes any more...

Well I was reading a magazine about a guy who built a whole bike with a 500cc v8, I was very curious, and when I saw that engine, I was so excited. Can you guys guess the engine?

Would that be engine, or engines? Thats some very clever engineering going on there, and a right scream to ride as well, i bet.
